"Uh, mostly," Emmett says, smiling a little to himself. "I was a TA in one of her classes when she started law school, and I kind of helped her get everything together. And then we spent more time together, and... I don't know. Something changed." He'd be hard-pressed to explain how or when it happened, but somewhere in the midst of studying and preparing for the trial, he'd started to think of her as something more.
