It's admittedly a little strange. Even someone like him, who spent far more time studying than socializing or even reading for pleasure, couldn't have entirely missed the pop culture phenomenon that was the Harry Potter series, and he knows enough to know those are the characters she's talking about now. First and foremost, though, she's a friend of Elle's, maybe eventually a friend of his, too, and Emmett really doesn't want to get hung up on that, especially when everything about her and all of this is so clearly real.

"Seems like it worked out well for you two," he says, his own smile soft in turn. "Both showing up here, too."
