winding through the wood
Walking the ley line has always been something that Aggie's done with a sense of purpose. In the absence of its previous caretaker and with the unique bond they've since formed, she's begun to consider itself its steward. That it's her job to strengthen the line and to make sure it doesn't have any blockages, not unlike a clear pipe, but with magic instead of water.
She's also come to accept that she doesn't have control over how the line's power gets used. As much as she thinks of the line as a living thing, it doesn't have power or morality. She can't steer it into only powering good magic–even if that term wasn't entirely subjective–but she hopes that she ends up with a net positive.
That hope floats to the front of her thoughts even more so these days, when she's run into a lot more ghosts and clairvoyants than she usually thinks of Darrow as host to. She doesn't quite understand the rules that govern spirits like Rose and Lisa, but they seem more bound to a location, more traditionally a spirit than Aggie herself has become. She wants to do right by them.
She's just more afraid of what else she's empowering, the cracks in the fabric of Darrow's magic, and the monsters that have come creeping out.
